Orthopaedic Surgery
The Division of Pediatric Orthopaedics treats patients with rare and complex musculoskeletal conditions, as well as common everyday injuries that befall otherwise healthy children. The Division treats patients ranging in age from birth to 21 years (older for some neuromuscular disorders).
Conditions treated here include general pediatric orthopaedic disorders, hip disorders (dysplasia, Perthes disease, slipped capital femoral epiphyses, etc.), scoliosis and other spinal deformities, limb deformities and discrepancies, neuromuscular disorders and deformities (cerebral palsy, myelomeningocele, Duchene's muscular dystrophy, etc.), syndromes and skeletal dysplasias, congenital hand issues, pediatric sports medicine, foot and ankle disorders and trauma.
We consult and treat patients, birth to age 18, with any condition relating to the locomotor system (spine and limbs). Our goal is to return patients to normal activities, and to improve function and quality of life for those with disabilities.
All members of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery treat trauma. Other conditions are managed by Pediatric Orthopaedists.
