Services
The Children's Kidney Center offers:
- All forms of dialysis for infants, children, and adolescents with kidney failure.
- Hemo- or home peritoneal dialysis (currently, more than 20 pediatric patients).
- The only center in the region offering ambulatory blood pressure monitoring for children, and a center for the study of hypertension in children.
- Special social programs and support groups for patients and families.
- Summer camp experience for children and adolescents with chronic kidney failure, on dialysis or with a kidney transplant ( http://www.frostvalley.org/ ).
- Family-centered approach to caring for children with renal disease to address medical, emotional and social needs of children with renal disease and to promote normal growth and development.
Ambulatory Services:
We are a major regional referral center for patients providing evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of kidney disorders of infants, children and adolescents including:
- Birth defects of the urinary and kidney system
- Infections of the kidneys and urinary tract
- Elevated blood pressure
- Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring
- Blood and protein in the urine
- Chronic kidney failure
- Genetic kidney diseases
- Systemic lupus erythematosus
- Nephrotic syndrome
- Cystic kidney disease
- Nephritis
- Kidney stones
- Acidosis and electrolyte disorders
- Early prevention of diabetic kidney disease
