Fred Lado, MD
Dr. Lado is Director of the Clinical Neurophysiology Fellowship at Montefiore and Assistant Professor of Neurology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. After undergraduate studies at Cornell University, he obtained his MD and PhD degrees from the New York University School of Medicine. His medical internship was at Bellevue Hospital in New York, and neurology residency at the Cornell University Medical Center, where he trained in both New York Hospital and Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital in New York City.
Dr. Lado trained in clinical neurophysiology and epilepsy at the Einstein and Montefiore. He is certified in adult neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and obtained an added qualification in clinical neurophysiology. Dr. Lado is a member of the American Epilepsy Society.
Dr. Lado's major interests are caring for adult patients with epilepsy and pursuing research into new treatments for epilepsy. In addition, his research is also directed at better understanding the effects of epilepsy on the brain and autonomic nervous system. Dr. Lado has authored numerous papers reviewing clinical epilepsy and reporting original research and receives research funding through the NIH and through industry.
