Genetics

The Division of Genetics is the administrative home for Montefiore's Center for Congenital Disorders, Center for Craniofacial Disorders and Center for Inherited Metabolic Disorders. It is within the division that clinical services are coordinated and activities such as clinical and basic science research and education are carried out. Our faculty, which forms the core staff for these centers, is actively involved in all of these pursuits.

Clinical activities coordinated by the Division of Genetics:

Outreach programs:

• Genetics Program at Blythedale Children's Hospital (includes Spina Bifida Clinic, Neurogenetics Clinic, Congenital Hand Malformations Clinic, Medical Genetics Clinic)
• Genetics Clinic at Jacobi Medical Center
• Genetics Clinic at Stamford Hospital (Connecticut)
• Combined activities with Montefiore's Program in Reproductive Genetics (Susan Gross, MD, Director)

Educational activities coordinated by the Division of Genetics:

• residency program in medical genetics (in collaboration with the staff of Montefiore's program in reproductive genetics)
• Educational activities for residents in pediatrics
• Educational activities for medical students at Albert Einstein College of Medicine
• Educational activities for graduate students in human genetics at Sarah Lawrence College.
