- The hotline is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
- Your call is confidential—no one will learn you called.
- Hotline counselors report abuse to the Administration of Child Services, which investigates immediately when appropriate.
Mandated Reporters: Instructions for reporting abuse
- Mandated Reporters call 800-635-1522, New York State Central Register of Child Abuse (SCR).
- Call anytime: SCR is open 24 hours a day.
- Your report remains confidential.
- Bronx Mandated Reporters, in addition to calling the SCR hotline, you must take the following steps:
- Download a DSS-2221A form or get a form from a supervisor.
- Fill out the DSS-2221A form completely.
- Mail the completed DSS-2221A form–within 48 hours of verbally reporting abuse–to:
